There are not many books on this subject, that is why I bought this book.In hope to get useful information.I am a beginner and have been restoring furniture for a year but I do not need to be tought how to handle a SCREWDRIVER! the chapter about cleaning and refinishing without stripping is repeated in the book THREE times , in different places!!! maybe because “repetitio mater studiorum est” !?!?! when polishing , it is usually really timeconsuming to fill the pores and all they have to say about this is tixothropic filler. try to get this stuff any place else than GB!!!fat chance. and why they say nothing about the pumice? Photos could be more informative for the polishers.For example I would like to see a tabletop finished by masters, for that I have to see a glance of light on it.
For absolute beginners this book is OK but I bought it for 35 euros, hoping that it was everything the previous review said. if the title says “french polishing” then the book should be about french polishing.
